BITWVLF is from the pacific northwest but his sound is straight out of your worst down tempo dystopian nightmare. Every track is a pitched-down, grinding orgasm building on double and triple-time hi-hats that will leave you sweaty and saying bitch wheres my smokes ...
NVR: How are you doing?
BITWVLF: I'm good Bo$$hog, busy, always grinding trying to remain in contact with the people that matter to me!
NVR: Can you tell us a little about BIWVLF and how it came about?
BITWVLF: Well, let's see... the name BITWVLF came from Bitrate/Bitcrush in music and one of my favorite animals other than bats is a Wolf.
NVR: OK. What was the bank of influences that led to BITWVLF? Influences in regards to anything in literature to movies?
BITWVLF: I've really fallen in love with Adventure / Fantasy / Horror over the years... so like Dark Crystal, Legend Cats Eye, I loved watching Fantasia when I was young all the different orchestral sounds and different music it had... Loads of video games growing up.
NVR: What is it that led to not only the music but to the overall concept of the BITWVLF?
BITWVLF: Just not really wanting to put time into relationships with bandmates or any more bands just to have it get ruined by drugs and alcohol sick of the dead end feeling, Wanted to branch out solo see what I could push myself and learn while moving forward.
NVR: So have you been in bands before?
BITWVLF: Yes, I play the drums as well I've played in crust punk and Melodic Hardcore bands since I was a youngster. I started drumming around 12 years old, started off with trumpet and trombone but really loved the feeling of drums (A.D.D)
NVR: Do you think that YOUR music is looking back, engaging with the present or looking forward?
BITWVLF: I mean its all of the above really, I like dark music that has a feeling. I've been trying to craft my own idea and style lately it's always an on going process.
NVR: How do you feel when you listen to your own music?
BITWVLF: Um... dang. I mean while I'm making it I hear it over and over and sometimes so I try not to get sick of it. Once all said and done I'm kinda in awe that something came out the way it did... but all in all, once it's released I move forward... Had to practice appreciating the music I make if I'm going to be playing it live.
NVR: Completely regardless of the music you make, what music do you love?
BITWVLF: Trap, Rap, Grindcore, Metal, Punk, and Jazz. It's always changing but I love a lot of it.
NVR: Do you think there are any acts around at the moment that you feel a certain kinship to?
BITWVLF: Dungeon Loud, Blvck Ceiling, Sidewalks and Skeletons, Team Titan and Team Grimoire loads of really cool peeps.
NVR: Can you tell us about some of your more recent releases?
BITWVLF: The bwvlf releases lately are kinda just coming out. Possible Endings was fun to release, It was released on BLVCK CEILINGS label Polycoffin. I feel I've broken through some of the boundaries holding me back like pushing the envelope on the WH/Dark Electronic music I make.
