Four months ago, was the last new footage we saw from the Darkwave/Electro-Rock group, Crosses. Consisting of Deftones vocalist Chino Moreno, a guitar player from a band known simply as Far and Chuck Doom. Stumbling across an announcement made via MetalInjection.net, I quickly began to anticipate what outcome of new material might sound like, will it be darker and heavier. Will we see them take a new approach entirely? Who can say really, til a teaser or track releases we will just have to sit pretty - I guess *eye roll*
Their first studio album was comprised of the original first 2 EP's, that had been released as EP 1 (stylized as EP "†") recorded at Airport Studios in Los Angeles, self-released on August 2nd, 2011 for free. Later in November (of the same year) after the $5 US release with higher quality file types, a coloured 10" vinyl, USB drive with remixes (mind you is unheard of viral marketing, which I sorta love), and some merch too. EP 2 (stylized as EP "††" ) featured quite a bit of bonus content; Digital Download, high resolution front and back cover artwork, digital booklet, a demo titled "Seeds", & an exclusive 10-minute behind the scenes documentary of their recording sessions. Both were remastered, restructured, and redistributed as a fully realized album, fans loved it.
Crosses posted an update on their Facebook page touting with the caption "Studio 11†20†15". Which means they are working two albums simultaneously (a new Deftones album, as well as this untitled Crosses album. Rumored to release at the very end of this month. Keep your fingers cross!
